There are already 1.29 million foreigners legally working in Poland in the ZUS registers. That's 8 percent. more than a year earlier. There are more Ukrainians, but also workers from other parts of the world – we read in the Thursday edition of “Rzeczpospolita”.

Even though unemployment registered last year increased by 0.6% and the Polish market added 96,000. foreign workers.

According to “Rz”, the number of foreigners in the transport, logistics, catering and food industry increases every year. They usually work in low-paid positions. At the same time, specialists from abroad constituted last year 20 percent employees of the business services sector.

Thanks to the list of 329 shortage professions prepared by the Ministry of Family, Labor and Social Policy, foreigners performing them will be able to benefit from accelerated legalization of their stay, and their employment will soon become easier. This, according to “Rz”, will facilitate access to a doctor, because this profession is also on the ministry's list.

As emphasized by Krzysztof Inglot, founder of Personnel Service, quoted by “Rz”, many industries would not cope without foreigners. He cited meat and fish processing as an example. In this sector, it is difficult to find not only Polish, but also Ukrainian employees. This gap is filled by newcomers from Asia and Latin America.

The ZUS registers cited by “Rz” show that the largest nationality on the Polish labor market are Ukrainians, followed by Belarusians, Georgians, Indians and Colombians. In 2025, by as much as 37%. the number of Nepalis working in our country has increased. (PAP)
