A policeman from Constanța-Parta Albă Penitentiary was detained after disclosing secret information to suspects targeted by DIICOT, including the identity of an authorized collaborator in question for collecting data and information in relation to the investigated criminal activity.
Prosecutors of the Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism Offenses-Constanța Territorial Service, the Drug Trafficking Office ordered, on Wednesday, August 20, the detention of a 22-year-old defendant (police sub-inspector within the Constanța-Poarta White Penitentiary), or Indirectly, information that is not intended for publicity or allowing the access of unauthorized persons to this information.
“According to the probative material, in December 2024, the investigated person offered support to the defendants-one of whom is sent to court by DIICOT for the offenses of setting up an organized criminal group and carrying out, without law, of operations with products likely to have psychoactive effects, informing them of the existence of a criminal investigation, Territorial Constanța ”says DIICOT, on Thursday, in a statement.

During the same period, the policeman from Constanța-Parta Albă Penitentiary disclosed directly and indirectly to the two persons the identity of an authorized collaborator in question for collecting data and information in relation to the investigated criminal activity.
“The actions of the penitentiary police officer aimed to prevent or make the criminal prosecution and the criminal liability of the two defendants investigated in a file instrumented by DIICOT-the Constanta Territorial Service. Following the search carried out at the defendant's domicile, several means have been found and raised”shows DIICOT.
The policeman was preventively arrested
On Thursday, August 21, the judge of rights and freedoms of the Constanta Court was notified with the proposal of preventive arrest of the defendant, for a period of 30 days.

“The judicial activities were carried out together with police officers from the Constanta Organized Crime Fighting Brigade. We specify that, during the entire criminal process, the investigated persons benefit from the procedural rights and guarantees provided by the Criminal Procedure Code, as well as the presumption of innocence”, DIICOT also transmitted.
Two years ago, a policeman from the Police Inspectorate of Vaslui County was detained by DIICOT, also for favoring the offender.
In 2024, the management of the Olt County Police Inspectorate started an investigation after a policeman from Slatina had tried to hide an envelope with forbidden substances found in a man. The agent would have tried to favor him by evading the sample.
