Former Prince Andrew, the younger brother of British King Charles III, moved out of the Royal Lodge residence located in the Great Windsor Park, where he had lived for over 20 years, British media reported on Wednesday. This is the result of the scandal of the American financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

According to media reports, the former prince – now known as Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor – left the Royal Lodge on Monday night and temporarily moved to Wood Farm Cottage, one of the houses on the monarch's Sandringham country estate in Norfolk, but eventually he will live in another house there, Marsh Farm.

Sandringham is the private property of the reigning monarch and Charles III will cover his younger brother's accommodation costs.

Symbolic rent and loss of titles

Buckingham Palace announced that Andrew would leave the Royal Lodge in October last year, along with the information that he would be stripped of all his titles. Moving out, it is believed was postponed to avoid the embarrassing presence of Andrew at Sandringham at Christmas timewhere the royal family usually spends holidays. During this time, there were controversies related to the lease of the property, because it turned out that Andrzej had been paying symbolic amounts for renting the 30-room residence for years.

The forced move from the Royal Lodge is a consequence of the former prince's acquaintance with Epstein and his vague explanations about it, especially the allegations of sexual assault made against him by Virginia Giuffre, one of many young women offered by Epstein to his influential friends. Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor consistently denies this, and the lawsuit filed by Giuffre was withdrawn in 2022 as a result of an out-of-court settlement. Virginia Giuffre committed suicide in 2025.

Shocking photo and emails about a Russian woman

The case continues to drag on the former prince, and the new documents from Epstein's file published by the US Ministry of Justice on Friday contain further materials that put him in a very unfavorable light, including: a photo of Andrzej above a young woman lying on the floor and a series of emails from 2010 between him and Epstein, who proposed a meeting with a 26-year-old Russian woman.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is one of many people who are in trouble because of their relationship with Epstein, the late American financier who maintained contacts with many wealthy and influential people from around the world and, as it later turned out, was engaged in pimping. (PAP)
