The administration of US President Donald Trump notified the world food program (WFP) and other partners that it has completed the implementation of the last few humanitarian assistance projects in the Middle East – the Associated Press agency said on Monday, citing officials from Washington and the UN.

According to AP, assistance projects were dismissed by the decision of Jeremy Lewin from the Department of Government Efficiency (Doge) led by Elon Musk, whose task is to close the operations of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), dealing with civil management and developmental assistance.
In recent weeks, the US authorities sent about 60 letters with information on the cancellation of contracts, also on the main projects of the World Food Program (WFP), the largest humanitarian organization of the world, established to combat global hunger. Its headquarters is in Rome.
The latest decisions relate to the completion of WFP projects in Lebanon, Jordan and Syria.
AP reminded that Trump's administration, despite the implemented policy of cuts of expenses, announced the behavior of the most urgent humanitarian aid projects. (PAP)
