UDMR President Kelemen Hunor said on Tuesday evening, on Digi24, that, from his point of view, PSD is not blocking the government's reforms. However, the UDMR leader is of the opinion that on certain issues the coalition has exceeded all expectations, “below”, arguing that “it's a bit much” to discuss five months in the coalition with only two draft laws.

“No, there are discussions, but I wouldn't say they are stalling. Discussions are usually necessary, but, indeed, on certain issues this coalition has exceeded any downward expectations. For five months to discuss two draft laws, the local and central administration and the economic package, is a bit much. Here, you see, there have been very few real reform measures, if we are talking about reforms. There have been desired, unwanted, necessary, very necessary corrections for to balance the budget, because last year we were at this precipice. I also understood, although I am not an economist. And then there was a great need to restore the credibility of the government in front of our external financiers, because whether you want it or not, this deficit has to be financed from somewhere, until you manage to reduce the deficit,” said Kelemen Hunor.

“The PSD should be the one who says: “Come on, Elijah, do it, do it, go””

Asked if the rotation expected in 2027 plays a role in the political movements of the coalition partners, the president of the UDMR stated: “I don't think so. It would be too early and it would be too illogical. If you want to play politics on the rotation, which I did not agree with from the very beginning, you should do that as soon as possible in the 2027 budget. Not now.”

“Now, if someone tries and thinks rationally in this world that has become irrational, the PSD would have an interest in pushing Ilie Bolojan to do as much as possible, not to stop him. That's why I don't believe in this logic. It simply doesn't hold up. I understand the likes, dislikes, I understand many issues, but logically, rationally, thinking, the PSD should be the one who says: “Come on, Ilie, do, do, go», said the president of UDMR Kelemen Hunor.
