In Krasnoyarsk, a court took into custody a courier who took money that belonged to the parents of an allegedly kidnapped 14-year-old teenager. This was reported by the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

Let us recall that in January 2026, attackers, acting by prior conspiracy, convinced a 14-year-old schoolboy from Krasnoyarsk to take money from family safes and transfer it to false law enforcement officers. They first introduced themselves over the phone delivery service and then police officers. MThe scammers misled the teenager, convince himwhether follow their instructions in order to “help relatives avoid problems.” Teenager reported that large amounts of cash and valuables were kept at home.

At the direction of the organizers, an intermediary, an 18-year-old resident of Surgut, came to the boy and helped him open the safes and take out the money in a backpack. The remaining part was picked up from the Sever restaurant in Krasnoyarsk by a 22-year-old courier from Tyumen, specially recruited for this role. Having taken the backpack, he, according to the instructions of the organizers, left it in the appointed place and disappeared. He left for Novosibirsk and was then detained by law enforcement officers in Blagoveshchensk. A criminal case has been opened against the courier for fraud. By Part 4 Art. 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

“In court, the prosecutor insisted on taking the suspect into custody, noting that he lives in Tyumen, does not have a regular income and does not study, which creates the risk of evading the investigation. While at large, the suspect may destroy evidence and interfere with the investigation. The young man himself objected to his detention. He explained that he admits his actions, but does not consider himself involved in fraud. He also intends to rent housing in Krasnoyarsk,” the prosecutor’s office explained.

The court chose to him preventive measure in the form of detention until March 22, 2026ode.
