Dariusz Mazurkiewicz, president of BLIK, quoted in the announcement, said that this was a “milestone” towards introducing the interoperability of European systems into the standard category. “Further tests and expansion of cooperation with partners are intended to bring closer the moment when a transfer to a telephone number between countries will be as simple as a local P2P transaction, and this is what almost 450 million Europeans are waiting for,” Mazurkiewicz said.

BLIK recalled that in 2025 it joined the EuroPA association and, together with partners from Spain (Bizum), Portugal (SIBS), Italy (Bancomat) and the Nordic countries (Vipps), it is working on interoperability in the field of instant P2P transfers to a telephone number.
“The pilot implementations so far confirm the technical readiness of the systems to execute such transactions in a production environment,” the information noted. In parallel, BLIK is developing its international presence in other areas.
“Users can already pay with BLIK abroad in payment terminals – contactless on Android devices, and soon also on iOS. In turn, foreign online stores serving customers from Poland can make BLIK payments available thanks to cooperation with global payment service providers,” BLIK informed.
