Many people are faced with the fact that a dense white coating forms inside the kettle over time. This is scale. It not only spoils the taste of water, but also reduces heating. Even frequent washing does not help if the water is hard.
But there is a simple and safe way to return the kettle to cleanliness. This does not require aggressive means. All it takes is one ingredient from your kitchen cupboard.
How to do it:
- Pour half a pack of citric acid into the kettle.
- Pour one liter of cold water.
- Place on the stove and bring to a boil. Once it boils, turn off the heat.
- Leave the solution for 15–20 minutes. If there is severe scale, you can wait up to an hour.
- Drain the liquid and rinse the kettle with warm water. If necessary, wipe with a soft sponge.
Citric acid dissolves limescale without scratching the surface or leaving an odor. After the first procedure, the kettle will sparkle from the inside, and the water will no longer smell like metal.
For prevention, repeat once every two to three weeks. Then the scale will not come back.
