The fuel oil killed almost all the living creatures at the bottom of the Black Sea in the area of the tanker crash. Millions of crabs, Rapanov, mollusks and jellyfish died in a black slurry.
According to Mash, the substance went down to the bottom due to the cold. While it is there, all living things will die. Volunteers every day find crabs and rapans in fuel oil. And if the crabs can still try to clean, with rapans everything is much more complicated – the sinks are completely filled with fuel oil, mollusks immediately die. According to experts, it is impossible to calculate ruined animals, the score goes on hundreds of thousands of individuals. And in the spring, carcasses of dead fish will begin to pop up.
The ecologist told us: everything will return to normal when the concentration of fuel oil will become acceptable for the life of the fauna. The underwater world, like sand, will recover at least 10 years.
