Energa from the Orlen group has reached a higher level in renewable energy. Here are the future plans

“The achievable capacity of the Energa Group's renewable sources exceeded 1 GW. This means that the installations managed by Energa Wytwarzanie can produce energy for approximately one million households within a year. They are awaiting finalization further renewable energy projects with a total capacity of approximately 300 MW. This is an important step on the way to implementing the energy transformation assumptions and the Orlen Group's strategy until 2035,” it was written in the press release.

For comparison, at the end of November, a total of 37.6 GW of renewable power was installed in Poland, including 24.5 GW of photovoltaic and 10.5 GW of wind.
As stated in the announcement, the total installed capacity of the Energa Group in all types of power plants is 1.9 GW. After the PV Mitra and WF Szybowice farms obtained a license, the share of renewable energy sources is 57%. this value. This share is higher than in the entire economy (51.7%).
“We have the next years and further investments ahead of us, which we approach enriched by our previous experience and at the same time aware of the new challenges facing the renewable energy sector, such as the need to modernize the grid, but also to make the generation assets themselves more flexible and hybrid. That is why, among other things, we plan a total of almost 130 MW of renewable power in the cable-pooling formula, as well as the implementation of the first hybrid projects combining renewable energy sources with energy storage,” said Magdalena Kamińska, after president of Energa.
300 MW of new photovoltaic capacity
The company reported that renewable sources with a total capacity of approximately 300 MW are currently being created or are awaiting the latest formal decisions. These include: PV Kotla (target capacity 130 MW), PV Serby (112 MW) and PV Wąbrzeźno (10 MW).

“The portfolio of Energa Green Development (EGD), responsible in the Energa Group for the development of land-based renewable sources, includes further projects with a total capacity of approximately 1 GWwhich are at various stages of preparation for implementation. Most of these are photovoltaic sources, but wind farm projects with a total capacity of approximately 46 MW are also planned,” it was written.
As recalled, Energa Operator is currently implementing the largest investment program in its history, which will enable the company build over 11 thousand km of new power lines and 7 thousand km of cable lines. Nearly 10,000 will also be modernized. km of already existing lines.
This will create, among others: conditions for connecting as many as 9 GW of new renewable sources (including approximately 200,000 prosumers), along with energy storage facilities. The value of this program is PLN 40 billionwith nearly 25 percent of this amount – PLN 9.4 billion, was secured as part of a low-interest loan granted under the National Reconstruction Plan.
