“At the invitation of Volodymyr Zelensky, I will be in Kiev in the coming days. At this dramatic time, Ukraine cannot be left alone,” the Prime Minister wrote on the X platform.

President Zelensky wrote on social media on Sunday that “over the past week, Russia has used over 980 strike drones, almost 1.1 thousand guided aerial bombs and two missiles against Ukraine” and that “Russian attempts to destroy logistics and transport connections between cities and communities” are being reported.

Ukraine is struggling with the consequences of Russian attacks, including: on energy facilities, which have remained the main target for months, and electricity supplies in the country are severely limited. After Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, the capital itself is experiencing long interruptions in electricity and heat supplies, and the inhabitants of Kiev must learn to function in extreme conditions.

In such a situation, aid reaches Ukraine from various sources. Last week, another batch of power generators was delivered by the Government Agency for Strategic Reserves (RARS). The first batch of power generators purchased as part of the “Heat from Poland for Kiev” campaign also arrived in the capital of Ukraine. Nearly PLN 9.5 million was collected in public collections for this purpose. The organizers of the event want to raise PLN 10 million. The European Union also prepared the largest winter aid package in history for Ukraine, providing 500 generators and allocating EUR 50 million for energy support.

At the end of January, trilateral negotiations between representatives of the US, Russia and Ukraine to end the war began in the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi. President Zelensky described them as “constructive”. These were the first talks during which representatives of US President Donald Trump met simultaneously with negotiators from Ukraine and Russia. Previously, Americans talked alternately with Russians and Ukrainians.

According to the latest information, the second round of negotiations will take place next Wednesday and Thursday, February 4 and 5.

February 24 will be the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. (PAP)
