The mayor of Krasnoyarsk responded to a dog attack on a child in Solontsy

2 February 15:58
The situation with an attack by a pack of dogs on children in Solontsy attracted the attention of federal and city authorities. The chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, and the mayor of Krasnoyarsk, Sergei Vereshchagin, joined the problem.
Let us remind you that yesterday, February 1, in the area of Novaya Street, a pack of stray dogs attacked children. One of the students was forced to climb a tree to escape. The incident was caught on video.
The Investigative Committee has already opened a criminal case of negligence. The chairman of the department demanded a report from the head of the regional department, Alexei Eremin, on the progress of the investigation and all the circumstances of the case.
Mayor Sergei Vereshchagin said that since the beginning of January, based on complaints from residents, 32 dogs have already been caught in Solontsy, and after yesterday’s incident, a group of specialists was sent there. However, as the head of the city writes, the information that some of the dogs in the pack were domestic is causing concern.
“There are signs of a violation of the law. Self-walking of dogs is prohibited in principle. Therefore, we need to work with the owners and have a conversation. I entrusted this to the head of the village council,” the mayor wrote.
Contractors will also check dogs with tags, which the control service usually does not touch.
