The new head of Poland 2050. Who is she?

In the second round of elections repeated on Saturday, the following people competed: Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz – Minister of Funds and Regional Policy and current First Vice-President of Poland 2050, and Paulina Hennig-Kloska – Minister of Climate and Environment and one of the vice-presidents of the group.
The first one won 350 votes, the second one 309.
Over 800 activists from all over Poland were entitled to vote. Online voting lasted from 16 to 22. To avoid errors resulting from the voting conducted on January 12, it was decided to use a different IT system.

Second round for the second time
The second round of elections for the president of Poland 2050, in which Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and Hennig-Kloska faced each other, took place on January 12. Lasting until The 22nd vote, which was conducted online, was invalidated due to technical problems. The decision to repeat the second round of elections was made on Monday, January 19, by the National Council of Poland 2050.
There was also a second option on the table – to reschedule the elections – this option would allow new candidates to run, including: the current party leader, Szymon Hołownia, who did not rule out running in such a situation. However, this proposal did not gain support – just like the idea of Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and Hennig-Kloska becoming co-chairs of the party.
Events related to the elections in Poland 2050 were widely commented on in the media. They referred to, among others: leaders of the parties forming the ruling coalition. Deputy Prime Minister and head of the Ministry of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (PSL) wished the coalition partners “to get this situation under control.” He emphasized that “there is no Poland 2050 without Szymon Hołownia.” He added that it was the current chairman who “introduced all these people into parliament, into the government.”

Five of its members ran for the leadership of the party after Szymon Hołownia in the first round of elections – in addition to Pełczyńska-Nałęcz and Hennig-Kloska, there were also members of parliament – Ryszard Petru, Joanna Mucha and Rafał Kasprzyk. Hołownia, the current leader and founder of Poland 2050, in September last year announced that he would not run for the position of party chairman again. Previously, the party's authorities were elected at the beginning of 2023 for a 3-year term, so their term of office expired in January and elections for both the chairman and the National Council had to be organized.
