As informed by Chief Warrant Officer of the Border Guard Małgorzata Potoczna from the press team of this unit, only last week nine Ukrainian citizens left our country under the escort of border guards. They all also received long-term bans on re-entering the Schengen countries.

– The recently detained foreigners have committed, among others: fiscal crimes, driving under the influence of alcohol or under the influence of psychotropic substances and causing damage to the health of another person – said SG Potoczna.

She added that Ukrainians constitute the majority of people who are forcibly taken to the border and handed over to the services of their country for violating our laws. This year, their number has already reached 300. Apart from them, this procedure most often concerned citizens of Georgia, Moldova and Belarus.

The Nadodrzański Border Guard Branch with its headquarters in Krosno Odrzańskie (Lubuskie) covers the Lubuskie, Greater Poland and Lower Silesian voivodeships. The length of the border protected by it is 716 km, including 278 km with Germany and 438 km with the Czech Republic.

Officers of this Border Guard unit also serve at the Poznań-Ławica, Wrocław-Strachowice and Zielona Góra-Babimost airports. (PAP)
