Janusz Palikot, who was initially charged by the prosecutor with seven charges of defrauding over PLN 5,000. people for the amount of over PLN 70 million, he now has nine of them on his account. As prosecutor Katarzyna Calów-Jaszewska, press spokesman for the National Prosecutor's Office, informed “Rzeczpospolita”, “The charges against the suspect Janusz P. have been supplemented. […] for another act related to misleading 145 investors and harming them for a total amount of over PLN 13 million”.
A multi-threaded investigation is underway, analyzing, among others, financial flows in the former politician's companies. At the same time, the Krakow court allowed the trustee to sell the assets of Manufaktura Piwa, Wódki i Wina – the main enterprise run by Palikot.

Janusz Palikot was detained by the CBA at the beginning of October 2024. The charges against him concern defrauding over PLN 5,000. people for the amount of over PLN 70 million. The collapse of his empire began with the company Manufaktura Piwa Wódki i Wina, whose bankruptcy was announced by a court in Kraków in December 2024. The operation of Manufaktura Piwa, Wódki i Wina lasted over eight years. It belonged to, among others, purchased in 2018 (two years after the company was registered) Browar Tenczynek – an enterprise with almost 500 years of history.
In January 2025, Janusz Palikot was released from custody in Wrocław after paying PLN 2 million bail. In his first statements after leaving prison, he informed that he was bankrupt, had lost everything and was at the mercy of his friends. His assets will now be sold by the trustee on the open market.
According to “Rzeczpospolita”, the list of items for sale includes, among others: alcohol found in Manufaktura's warehouses and property of the brewery in Tenczynek. This includes: 18 thousand bottles of vodka, 341 thousand bottles of craft beer, 60 thousand cartons of Palikot whiskey, thousands of glass packaging and bottle stands.
The Manufaktura Piwa Wódki i Wina capital group currently has 1,639 creditors worth PLN 254.4 million, but this is probably not the entire debt of Janusz Palikot's company, there may be many more creditors.
