The US Department of Justice on Friday released approximately 3 million pages of documents from the Jeffrey Epstein case files and announced the end of the congressionally ordered trial. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche noted that some of the documents had been truncated.

As Blanche said at the press conference, the latest and last tranche of documents includes 3 million pages of documents related to the Epstein investigations, as well as 2,000 videos and 180 thousand photos. The official noted that the ministry has decided not to publish documents that contain personal or sensitive information about Epstein's victims, as well as materials containing child pornography or materials relating to ongoing investigations. However, he said that none of the documents had been withheld for national security reasons.

Blanche announced that the publication of the tranche – constituting 99 percent. all ministry documents about Epstein – fulfills the obligation imposed on the ministry by Congress under the law adopted last year. The publication comes more than a month after the deadline set by Congress passed.

The deputy prosecutor general suggested that the files did not contain evidence of sexual abuse of girls by persons other than Epstein himself, because if they did, the prosecutor's office would have initiated an investigation into the matter. He also rejected suggestions that the prosecutor's office was trying to protect US President Donald Trump, who for years was friends with the billionaire accused of exploiting minors.

A browser on the ministry's website (www.justice.gov/epstein) shows that the president's name appears in over 3,000. documents.
