Private carriers in Krasnoyarsk will be able to buy new buses with a 40% discount

30 January 17:40

Krasnoyarsk private carriers will have the opportunity to renew their fleet on preferential terms. In 2026, a selection will be announced for them to receive subsidized leasing with a 40 percent discount on the purchase of new buses.

According to the publication gornovosti.ru, the Minister of Transport of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Dmitry Zotin said this live on the air of the Regional Management Center.

“We will send out a newsletter to carriers, create a general request from the region, and as production progresses, the companies will be able to put the buses on the line,” he explained.

The emphasis in updating the fleet this year is on environmentally friendly transport. In total, it is planned to purchase 155 gas buses. Tenders for 55 vehicles have already been held, and tenders for the remaining 100 units will be announced soon. The main recipient will be municipal enterprises, but the preferential leasing program will open up opportunities for private owners as well.

According to the deputy head of the municipal services department, Igor Manchenko, last year private companies already purchased 56 new cars. There are currently 1,186 buses in the city, 196 of which correspond to the outdated Euro-3 environmental class. They plan to replace them with more modern models.

As for electric vehicles, their mass purchase is not yet planned due to the high cost and the lack of a federal co-financing program. In Krasnoyarsk, about 10% of trolleybuses are over 10 years old, and among the trams only half of the fleet is considered new.
