In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the Boguchansky District Court issued a verdict in a criminal case against four citizens suspected of causing particularly large damage.
The court explained that in 2023, three attackers decided to place mining equipment on the territory of the Boguchansky District. This type of activity requires a large amount of electricity. “Free» They found the connection on the networks of the energy company KrasEko JSC. One of the employees acted as an assistant and was promised additional income.
Between the end of November 2023 and the end of May 2024, the attackers found the owners of the premises who agreed to provide them for the installation of mining equipment, illegally laid cables from the power line and connected the premises to the networks without ensuring that the electricity consumed was accounted for.
The court found the KrasEko employee guilty of abuse of power and causing damage by breach of trust. He was punished with 4 years of suspended imprisonment and a fine of 70 thousand rubles. The remaining men also received suspended sentences for a period of 3 to 2.5 years and the same fine.
Plus, the court partially satisfied the civil claim for compensation for damage caused — the attackers will have to pay 5.24 million rubles. Part of the mining equipment will be seized to pay off the debt.
The court noted that the verdict has not yet entered into legal force.
