Azimuth Airlines published a report on the hard landing of the Sukhoi Superjet 100 at Antalya Airport.
According to the investigation, during landing there was an unpredictable shift in the air flow, which is why the plane began to move off course and chatter. After a hard landing, the crew was able to keep the aircraft on the runway, but the fuel tank was damaged due to the impact. Fuel leaked and caught fire. The report states that only this one burned, the “superjet” did not.
The plane landed at 21:34, before which, according to passengers, it had been descending for a long time. After the plane touched the ground, passengers felt a hard blow. Turkish firefighters began extinguishing the Sukhoi at 21:36, two minutes after landing. People were evacuated via inflatable slides: the SSJ-100 crew worked quickly. No one was hurt.
