A Pole detained in the Dominican Republic. International manhunt


The man was chased not only the arrest warrant issued by the District Prosecutor's Office in Szczecin, but also the European Arrest Warrant and the Interpol Red Notice. Now he has been accused of misappropriating huge sums of money.

A Pole detained in the Dominican Republic. He allegedly appropriated over PLN 14 million
According to the police, the former assessor is suspected of crimes committed while working in the bailiff's office at the District Court of Szczecin Prawobrzeże and Zachód. “The man is suspected of, among others, misappropriating significant amounts of money, exceeding his powers and other crimes against property and the credibility of documents,” we read in the police statement.
According to investigators' findings from January 2024 to February 2025, Łukasz G. was to appropriate funds with a total value of approximately PLN 14.4 million.
International manhunt for a Pole
“Bounty hunters” from the West Pomeranian Voivodeship determined that in February last year, the suspect left Poland and went to the Dominican Republic. Thanks to cooperation with the Office for International Police Cooperation and Interpol, it was possible to trace his whereabouts. On January 17, he was detained in Santo Domingo and then handed over to the Polish services.

The prosecutor's office accuses him of: used access to the bailiff's office system. He was supposed to search for legally closed cases in which large companies were creditors, including: from the banking and leasing industries and then enter false entries, turning creditors into debtors. On this basis, he ordered executions from their bank accounts for amounts reaching hundreds of thousands of zlotys.
For the alleged acts Łukasz G. faces up to 25 years in prison.
