Bayern Munich clearly prevailed over Borussia Monchengladbach, score 4-1, in the first match of the #25 Bundesliga stage, in a game where the championship leader demonstrated his superiority.
The success allowed the Bavarians to temporarily increase their advantage in the standings over Borussia Dortmund to 14 points, but with a game in hand.
Bayern settled the match right from the first half
The hosts opened the scoring in the 33rd minute as Leon Goretzka provided a precise pass for Luis Diaz, who finished from inside the box to make it 1-0.
Just before the break, the Bavarians doubled their advantage. This time, Diaz was the decisive passer and Konrad Laimer scored with a powerful shot to make it 2-0 at the end of the first period.
The goal of honor came at the end
The visitors' task became even more difficult in the 55th minute when Rocco Reitz was sent off, leaving Borussia Monchengladbach outnumbered. In the same phase, Jamal Musiala converted the shot from 11 meters and increased the lead's advantage to 3-0.
Bayern Munich scored once more in the 79th minute through Nicolas Jackson, who finished from close range to make it 4-0. Borussia Monchengladbach only managed the honors goal in the 89th minute when Mohammed Mohia set up the final score, 4-1.
Ranking situation
Thanks to this victory, Bayern Munich reached their fifth consecutive victory in the championship and has 66 points after 25 stages, 14 more than Borussia Dortmund, but also with an extra match played.
On the other hand, Borussia Monchengladbach is in 12th place in the Bundesliga, with 25 points, just three above the relegation places, having in turn an extra match played.
