On Wednesday, President Karol Nawrocki signed an amendment to the Act on changes in government administration regulations, which, among other things, indicates entities that can perform tasks in the field of equal treatment and senior policy. It will also enable the Prime Minister to obtain information regarding the exercise of the SP's powers in companies.

According to the signed act, the Prime Minister will be able to, among others: decide on how to locate in the government structure the body responsible for implementing tasks in the field of equal treatment and senior policy. The head of government will be able to entrust the task in the area of equal treatment to: a member of the Council of Ministers, the secretary of state, an undersecretary of state or the government plenipotentiary for equality. However, tasks in the field of senior policy will be able to be performed by the Minister of Family, Labor and Social Policy or the government plenipotentiary for senior policy.
The Prime Minister will be able, by way of an ordinance, to appoint his plenipotentiaries on his own initiative or at the request of one of the ministers.

The new regulations are also intended to enable the Prime Minister to obtain information necessary to properly coordinate the exercise of the powers vested in the State Treasury in companies. This information will be made available by the Minister of State Assets. The process of transformations within government administration structures in the context of the assets of individual ministries was also improved.
A new task was also introduced for the Government Legislation Center, which is to provide access to information about the law and the course of the government legislative process. According to the new regulations, in cases justified by the significant interest of state security, IT services for the Chancellery of the Prime Minister will be able to be provided by an institution for which the Minister of Digitization serves as the founding body. In addition, the Minister of Digitization will be able to carry out tasks involving the creation, maintenance or development of an IT system for the needs of, among others: organizational units subordinated to or supervised by the Prime Minister, the Social Insurance Institution and the National Health Fund.
Other provisions are of an orderly nature, consisting in deleting outdated regulations. “The UEFA Euro 2012 European Football Championship took place 12 years ago, but to this day the minister responsible for sport is obliged to submit reports on the implementation of Euro 2012 projects to the Council of Ministers and the Sejm, which has no rational justification,” it was noted, for example.
Most new regulations are to enter into force 14 days after the amendment is published in the Journal of Laws. (PAP)
