In Krasnoyarsk in 2025, 375 cases of unauthorized redevelopment in apartment buildings were recorded. The most problematic areas were Oktyabrsky, Sovetsky and Kirovsky districts.
Most often, residents illegally changed gas stoves to electric ones, demolished walls, including load-bearing ones, and unauthorizedly installed bathrooms in dormitories. Violations are identified by management companies or neighbors. The consequences of such alterations can be flooding, wall collapses and heating failures throughout the house.
“Unauthorized redevelopment can lead to the destruction of the building’s load-bearing structures or disruption of the operation of engineering systems. Therefore, design documentation is always developed for various types of redevelopment,” said the deputy head of the city, head of the urban planning department, Sergei Shikunov.
Last year, the urban planning department approved 721 projects but issued 103 refusals, mostly due to illegal work already completed.
The department recalled that approval of redevelopment is a free municipal service that can be issued at the address: st. Karl Marx, 95. The consent of the neighbors is not required for this.
