The newspaper of the Smidovichi district “District Bulletin” (12+) on May 19, 2006 wrote on its pages about the Nikolaev youth association “Blue Patrol”. The constant concern of the youth club, consisting of school-age children, is winter kills on the river, cleaning the coastal area, and lining up reservoirs during drought periods. As a result of cleaning coastal areas, the hydrochemical composition of water improves. The past two seasons were remembered by Nikolaev residents for a wonderful phenomenon – the flowering of the relict Komarov lotus. And the pilgrimage to Lake Long began, which entailed the barbaric destruction of the flower. The protection of the lotus became a new task for the club members, and in many ways the Blue Patrol managed to save the lotus from destruction.

Decreasing fish stocks require attention and care, and therefore the Blue Patrol informs the population about the timing of the ban on all types of fishing during two-month periods to protect early-spawning, spring-spawning and salmon fish of the Tunguska River basin.

The newspaper wrote that a methodological association “Professional Show” was held in the Nikolaev kindergarten, to which workers from preschool institutions in the region came. Five teachers conducted open lessons. At the first open lessons there were small discoveries – acquaintance with a variety of unconventional drawing techniques: brush strokes, paper imprints, charcoal. At an open lesson, children were introduced to the traditional ritual holidays of the Russian people.

At the discussion that took place after class, Nikolaev teachers shared their experiences. All teachers who hosted guests were presented with certificates and memorable gifts.
