January 27 10:30
Almost 60% of Russians agree to work 10 hours a day to get a four-day working week. At the same time, the vast majority of employers – 87% – do not support this idea, citing a shortage of personnel.
As reported by Vestnik of the Surgut Region with reference to data from the online job search service SuperJob, the study showed an increase in the popularity of the shortened week. Currently, supporters of this format among economically active citizens are 56%. By comparison, in April 2021 there were only 39%.
Most often, the idea of a four-day workday with a 10-hour working day is supported by women and married couples with children. Most respondents said they would spend an extra day off relaxing with their family.
At the same time, the picture is the opposite among employers. Only 1% of organizations are ready for such changes. 87% of managers were against it, citing the lack of qualified employees as the main reason.
