A Zheleznogorsk resident was sent to a colony for attempting to murder his dacha neighbors (video)

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, a court sentenced a pensioner who fired a sawn-off shotgun at his neighbors.

The prosecutor's office said that a 65-year-old resident of Zheleznogorsk had long been at odds with his neighbors in the gardening community. Summer residents argued over the height of the fence, a barking dog, drainage of water from their plots in the spring, and other things.

“Years of daily complaints and mutual reproaches have turned good neighborly relations into open hostility. The wife of one of the neighbors even offered to sell the plot and move, the neighborhood had become so unbearable,” the department’s press service said.

In the summer of 2025, a pensioner accidentally overheard neighbors talking and complaining about him. He was offended and decided to take revenge. In the garage, the attacker had been keeping someone else’s backpack with a homemade sawed-off shotgun for several years. The man claimed that 4 years ago a random fellow traveler forgot his things in his car. According to him, he himself had never taken out or used a weapon before.

“But at that moment logic gave way to emotions. He took his backpack and went into the forest, towards the checkpoint. After waiting for his enemies’ car to pass by, the man raised the sawn-off shotgun and fired once from a distance of 10 meters,” the prosecutor’s office said.

The sawn-off shotgun was loaded with shot. It hit the windshield and the body of the car; the driver was slightly wounded by shrapnel – he had pinpoint abrasions on his forearm. The attacker did not shoot again, but disappeared into the forest.

During interrogations, the pensioner insisted that he only wanted to scare his neighbors, but investigators collected evidence confirming a deliberate and targeted crime.

The court found the man guilty of attempted murder of two persons in a generally dangerous manner (Part 3 of Article 30, paragraphs “a”, “e” of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), intentional damage to property in a generally dangerous manner (Part 2 of Article 167 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and illegal possession of firearms (Part 1 of Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to imprisonment for 8.5 years in a strict regime colony with restriction of freedom for 1 year.
