Newag has concluded a preliminary cooperation agreement with Siemens Mobility GmbH and Siemens Mobility sp. z o. o. regarding potential cooperation regarding the supply of high-speed railway vehicles for PKP Intercity – the company said in a press release.

As stated, the agreement specifies general assumptions for potential cooperation in order to jointly obtain and complete the order for delivery of 20 electric multiple units with a speed of at least 320 km/h within seven years in the public procurement procedure under competitive dialogue announced by PKP Intercity in December 2025.
The parties initially assume that if an order is obtained, some of the vehicle production and approval activities will be performed by Newag. Detailed rules for the parties' potential cooperation will be established in a separate agreement, the conclusion of which is expected in April 2026.
The agreement was based on the exclusivity principle, i.e. the parties agreed not to conduct talks or negotiations with other entities within the scope of the subject matter of the agreement until December 31, 2026.
“The need for the company to conclude an agreement results from the fact that the company itself does not meet the conditions for participation in the proceedings,” it was added.
