Airbnb and booking on top. A large increase in booking

Short -term rental through specialized platforms is becoming more and more popular in the EU. In 2024 it increased by 18.8 percent. Compared to 2023, Eurostat said.

In 2024, guests spent 854.1 million nights in short -term accommodation facilities in the EU, reserved through Airbnb, Booking, Expedia Group or TripAdvisor.

With the exception of April, each month in 2024 recorded a greater number of nights spent in short -term accommodation compared to the same month in 2023. The largest relative increases compared to 2023 were recorded in March (+48.0 percent), May (+31.7 percent), August (+21.6 %) and November (+21.6 %) and November (+21.6 %) and November percent).
