Citing the data of a survey published on Sunday by CURS, PSD Arad leader Mihai Fifor states that when “76% of Romanians tell you that the country is heading in the wrong direction, and 73% declare that they no longer have any confidence in you, you are no longer preparing for “another assumption””, but “you are preparing to leave”, an allusion to the fact that Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan intends to soon assume responsibility Government on package 3 and economic measures.
He does not directly name Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, but cites the percentage of respondents who said they had “little” or “very little” trust in him.
In the message on Facebook, Fifor says that Romania was “captured by someone” who decided “to put the economy on the ground, to impoverish and humiliate the Romanians deliberately”, for “”reforms” that no one else but him sees”.
“Because there is no room for one more misfortune. In a normal country, you pack your bags and go home. That's it. But today's Romania is no longer a normal country, unfortunately. The Romanians who have water in their mouths say so. It is a country captured by someone who certainly does not melt for the sake of the Romanians and who decided, in the name of “reforms” that no one else but him sees, to bring the economy to the ground, to deliberately impoverish and humiliate the Romanians”, added Mihai Fifor, Sunday evening, on Facebook.
“A kamikaze, not a hero on a white horse”
The social democrat says that Romania has “an economy on the brink of recession, cascadingly increased taxes, the highest inflation in the European Union, astronomically higher than that of the next ranked, the steep drop in purchasing power, frozen incomes and exploding prices”.
“Romanians work more, pay more and live infinitely worse. And no direction. Just a fixed idea. “Reform” with the barda. Through repeated assumptions. And nothing in place. Because you don't want to. Although you have had measures to stimulate the economy on the table for 6 months”, continued Mihai Fifor.
The PSD deputy stated ironically that, despite the “everyday reality”, “the answer of the “apostle” is the same: more austerity, more burden placed on the shoulders of those who are already unable to carry.”
“So, when the overwhelming majority clearly tells you that you have lost direction and total trust and you continue, you only do it because you are a kamikaze, not a hero on a white horse. But no one and nothing gives you the right to drag Romania after you”, concluded Fifor.
CURS, polling center owned by former journalist Iosif Buble, published a poll on Sunday according to which 76% of Romanians believe that Romania is heading in the wrong direction, and 19% believe that the direction is a good one.
