Daniel Băluță, the PSD candidate for the Capital City Hall, claims that between the liberal Ciprian Ciucu and their counter-candidate supported by the AUR, Anca Alexandrescu, there is a “clear table”, and “one never attacks the other”.
Asked on Wednesday evening on Antena 3 about the statement in which Ciprian Ciucu spoke about a possible discussion with Cătălin Drula “let's see if we can find a solution so that Bucharest does not end up in the hands of those it should not end up”, Daniel Băluță answered: “I think that the distinguished colleague from the PNL is trying an electoral platform (…), wanting to win at any cost”.
“All this approach and all this behavior he has is part of his strategy, but it's a cover,” added the social democrat.
He did not explicitly mention Anca Alexandrescu, but said he was referring to the “independent candidate”.
“That's my opinion. If you see, they never attack each other (…). He has the upper hand with the lady candidate (…), the independent candidate. The fellow mayor has a clear upper hand from this point of view,” added Daniel Băluță.
The PSD candidate claims that he is not afraid of his opponent from the PNL, but only of the “chaos in the city”.
“No, I'm not afraid. The only thing I'm afraid of is the chaos in the city (…). I want from the 8th to try to do everything humanly possible to stop this chaos, but we can't solve it with counters,” he continued.
Băluță, currently mayor of Sector 4, was then asked who he considers his main opponent and whom he hopes to convince in the last hundred meters.
“I want to convince the people of Bucharest about the importance of the results, on the one hand, and, on the other hand, that this time it is not an “anti” vote and it is not a fear of someone coming to power. Because, if we look carefully, we cannot vote against the passages, against the hospitals, against the metro, against the trams”, answered Daniel Băluță.
