Tourism revenues in 2025 increased by 5%. year-on-year to USD 1.9 trillion – estimates the UN tourism agency UN Tourism.

Total export revenues from tourism (including passenger transport) are estimated at $2.2 trillion in 2025.
Places that saw solid revenue growth included Morocco (+19%), Republic of Korea (+18%), Egypt (+17%), Mongolia (+15%), Japan (+14%), Latvia (+11%) and Mauritius (+10%).
The UN Agenda expects international tourism to grow by 3%. up to 4 percent in 2026 compared to 2025, assuming that the global economic situation remains favorable and geopolitical conflicts do not intensify.
Uncertainty related to current geopolitical tensions and conflicts poses a growing risk for tourism in 2026.
“International tourism in 2026 will be driven by strong consumer demand, improved air connectivity and growing outbound traffic from emerging markets. Major international events such as the Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics (Italy) and the 2026 FIFA World Cup (Canada, United States and Mexico) will also contribute to tourism growth,” it said.
