The meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, lasted less than an hour.
“A good meeting with President Trump, fruitful and substantive. We discussed the work of our teams, and there are meetings or communications almost every day. The documents are now even better prepared,” Zelensky wrote on the X platform.
The President of Ukraine said that they also discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defense system in the context of Russian attacks on the country's energy infrastructure during the harsh winter.
“The previous meeting with President Trump helped protect the airspace. I hope that this time we will also strengthen ourselves. I thanked him for the previous anti-aircraft missile package and asked for an additional one. Protection of life, our perseverance, common diplomatic work. Thank you!” – he pointed out.
Donald Trump in Davos: good meeting with Zelensky
US President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he had a “good meeting” with Ukraine's president, but admitted there was still a “long way” to end the war.
He added that his envoys, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, will meet Vladimir Putin today or tomorrow. When asked about his message to Putin, he replied: – The war must end.
