President Bytom Mariusz Wołosz announced on Tuesday that he received documents from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister to apply for support for the city's revitalization from the budget reserve. He pointed out that the local government could not afford its own contribution.


Prime Minister Donald Tusk on May 26, 2025. at the Municipal Office in Bytom, he declared that the local government will receive PLN 200 million in support for the revitalization of the city by the end of 2026. He pointed out that the government would first transfer PLN 10 million to the preparation of relevant documentation. He did not specify when. On Tuesday, after three months, Wołosz returned to the case during the conference, at which he informed about the takeover of the Witczak shaft by the local government and the work on the agreement on the transfer of the first apartments.

He explained that from the Chancellery of the Prime Minister the municipality received documents regarding applying for support from the budget reserve. – To apply for such funds, you need to provide 20 percent. own contribution, which we absolutely cannot afford and what we said from the beginning – noted Wołosz.
The President of Bytom stated that before the announcement of plans for co -financing, he informed the prime minister and received from him assurance that it would be support without having to contribute. He indicated that therefore, the documentation provided by the Chancellery of the Prime Minister “does not coincide with the prime minister's declaration.”

During Tuesday's press conference, Wołosz announced that the first residential buildings from SRK – in the districts of Miechowice and Bobrek – the magistrate should take over in 2025. He announced that work on appropriate agreement on this matter was underway. Meanwhile, SRK gave the Municipal Office in Bytom a tower and buildings of the Witczak shaft and about 3 ha of the former Centrum Centrum Mine. The local government plans to create a new facilities of the Bytom Municipal Services Department there.
