President Karol Nawrocki said on Thursday in Davos that he has no plans to travel to Kiev in connection with the anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. He added that soon – probably next weekend – he would meet with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky “on the occasion of a different format.”


The president, who is in Davos for the World Economic Forum, was asked at Thursday's press conference whether the upcoming anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine could be an opportunity for his return visit to Kiev – after last December. the president of Ukraine paid an official visit to Warsaw.
– I will meet President Zelensky very soon in a different format. I think next weekend, replied Nawrocki. He added that “there are no plans to go to Kiev or Ukraine” in connection with the fourth anniversary of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, which falls on February 24.
The president also noted that the issue of Russia's war against Ukraine, which “is the most important issue for Poland in terms of security”, was one of the topics of his talks with US President Donald Trump.
Nawrocki emphasized that it was very important for Poland that the war ended with a lasting agreement. – I do not trust Vladimir Putin in any way. For Poland, peace that will only be an opportunity to mobilize the forces of the Russian Federation and attack in 5, 10, 15 or 20 years is not a good solution, he emphasized. He added that his views on this matter are stable.
According to the calendar on the presidential website, on Saturday, President Nawrocki and the President of Lithuania Gitanas Nauseda, who will visit Warsaw that day, will take part in the celebration of the 163rd anniversary of the outbreak of the January Uprising; On Sunday, President Nawrocki will visit Lithuania on the same occasion.
