In the statement, the Ministry of Finance announced that state budget revenues amounted to PLN 78.3 billion and were higher by approximately PLN 2.6 billion (i.e. 3.4%) compared to the same period of the previous year (PLN 75.7 billion, i.e. 12.0% of the plan).

Tax revenues of the state budget amounted to PLN 69.5 billion and were higher by approximately PLN 2.1 billion (i.e. 3.1%). in relation to the implementation in the period January – February 2025.

The ministry emphasized that the lower state budget revenues from PIT in the period January – February 2026 compared to the same period in 2025 result from higher shares transferred to local government units in January and February 2026 compared to 2025.

“The total shares of local government units in this period amounted to PLN 59.5 billion compared to PLN 53.5 billion in 2025, i.e. 11.4 percent more. In accordance with the reform of local government revenues in force from 2025, double installments of shares were assigned to local government units for January and February. Total revenues from PIT (state budget and local government units) amounted to PLN 34.9 billion in the period January – February this year and were 13.6% higher than in 2025. – indicated.

It was added that this increase in absolute amount was, however, lower than the increase in installments transferred to local government units.

In the case of CIT income for February 2026, the Ministry of Finance pointed out that it should be borne in mind that from January 1, 2026, an increased CIT rate applies, among others. for commercial banks (increased from 19% to 30%).

“Due to payment deadlines, February is the first month where larger revenues are visible in this respect for January 2026.” – he added.

“In the case of the assessment of VAT revenues (…), the implementation of public investments, including military ones, in December 2025 had a positive impact, for which payments were visible in January this year. In turn, February VAT revenues were negatively affected by the decline in industrial production by 1.5% yoy and in construction and assembly production by 12.8% yoy in January this year.” – explained in the announcement.

In turn, the realization of non-tax revenues in the period January-February 2026 amounted to PLN 8.8 billion and was higher by approximately PLN 0.6 billion (i.e. 7.4%) compared to the realization in the period January-February 2025.

“In the period January-February 2026, the state budget received payments from the auction of greenhouse gas emission allowances in the amount of approximately PLN 1.5 billion. This amount was lower by approximately PLN 0.4 billion, i.e. approximately 22.9% compared to January-February 2025.” – marked.

As for the execution of state budget expenditure after February, it amounted to PLN 126.8 billion, i.e. 13.8 percent. plan, at the same time it was higher by approximately PLN 14.7 billion (i.e. 13.2%) compared to the same period last year (PLN 112.1 billion, i.e. 12.2% of the plan).
