The president of the PSD, Sorin Grindeanu, said on Tuesday at Gândul that “there is no other governing alternative at this moment”, but he criticized Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan for “a type, if you like, that has become proverbial, of inflexibility to any idea that comes from outside his own thinking”.
Grindeanu suggested that a possible exit of the PSD from the government could lead to early elections.
“There is no other governing alternative at this moment, there is none (…). At this moment, we can get out of the government, from this coalition, and we go to advance, does anyone want advance?” said the social democrat.
Asked if he thinks that Ilie Bolojan should be replaced as prime minister, he replied: “We are not at that point yet.”
On the other hand, Sorin Grindeanu claims that the relationship with Ilie Bolojan is a “difficult” one and that he is not the only one in the coalition who has this opinion.
“The interaction, the dialogue, the attempt to find good solutions for the Romanians, a type, if you will, that has become proverbial, of inflexibility to any idea that comes from outside one's own thinking. It is not easy to interact, that's why I said that's the word (…). To be clear, it's not just about the PSD here. It's also about the UDMR, and the USR, even”, the PSD leader continued.
What he said about the Judiciary Bills Committee
Giving “an example from yesterday”, Grindeanu said that UDMR and USR asked the liberal prime minister what is the role of the committee for the analysis and review of laws in the field of justice, considering that there is a Parliament and relevant commissions in this regard, and Ilie Bolojan did not give them any answer.
On this occasion, the social democratic leader suggested that the presence of non-governmental organizations in that committee was inadequate, although he later said that “everything that comes from civil society is very welcome”.
“What is the expertise of some gentlemen and ladies from Vocea României, for example, in terms of justice laws? (…). I have no idea what Tudor Chirilă's expertise is in the legal field, and I am not interested in finding out. I know that in this country there is a CSM, I know that there are various bodies, there is a parliamentary committee in the Senate, there is a parliamentary committee in the Chamber of Deputies. There are things that can be discussed in an organized way,” Sorin Grindeanu said.
