Sweden is preparing companies for war. Entrepreneurs receive a special guide

— The brochure for companies provides specific advice on planning, practicing and strengthening your preparedness to deal with various situations – emphasized Mikael Frisell, head of the Civil Defense Office, which is responsible for preparing the publication.
How to survive in a dangerous situation? Swedish citizens received such advice
The 30-page guide encourages entrepreneurs to analyze what factors determine the continuity of company operations in the event of war or crisis and what steps can be taken to minimize the risk of downtime. The authors indicate, among others: on the need to provide emergency energy sources, the ability to quickly transition to remote work and the ability to relocate employees.
Companies are also encouraged to practicing crisis procedures, preparing alternative communication channels and strengthening security against cyberattacks, which in situations of international tension become one of the main threats.

A broader strategy of state resilience in the event of war
The initiative addressed to companies is part of the broader policy of the Swedish government. In the fall of 2024, a similar guide was sent to all households, focusing on preparing citizens to function in crisis conditions.
The newly established Office of Civil Defense is responsible for all activities, and it began operations on January 1 after the transformation of the existing Office of Civil Protection and Preparedness. Changing the name and profile of the institution is intended – as the authorities emphasize – to better respond to contemporary challenges related to the security and resilience of the state.
