Master classes for schoolchildren have begun at the Dmitry Mindiashvili Wrestling Academy in Krasnoyarsk. And in Krasnoyarsk schools there are lessons dedicated to Ivan Yarygin and the history of the international tournament named after him.
The regional Ministry of Sports reported that educational events for students in grades 5-8 are traditionally held on the eve of the Ivan Yarygin Cup with the support of the main education department of the Krasnoyarsk city administration.
About 250 students will attend the master classes. Coaches and athletes of the Wrestling Academy introduce young guests to the basics of martial arts. The children will also be given a tour of the institution with a visit to the office-museum of the Honored Trainer of the USSR and Russia Dmitry Mindiashvili.
The first master class for Krasnoyarsk schoolchildren the day before, on January 19, was conducted by Anna Polovneva, European champion, now the senior coach of the region's youth women's wrestling team of the Dmitry Mindiashvili Wrestling Academy.
Subsequent classes, which will last until January 27 inclusive, will be taught by other coaches and athletes of the Academy. Among them are the winner of the World and European Championships Yulia Maksimova and the current vice-champion of Russia Valeria Trifonova, who are also representatives of the Olympic reserve sports school named after Buvaysar Saitiev. Each master class starts at 14:00, duration is one hour.
Let us remind you that the XXXVII International freestyle wrestling competition among men and women “Ivan Yarygin Cup” will be held in Krasnoyarsk from January 29 to February 1.
