Neural networks are no longer exclusively a “toy for young people” and are actively entering the everyday life of a wide range of residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
Thus, interest in artificial intelligence has grown sharply among people over 55 years of age. According to a MegaFon study based on anonymized data, in the nine months of 2025 the number of such users increased 6 times compared to the same period of the previous year.
The operator’s specialists analyzed Internet traffic to popular neural networks, accessible both through a browser and through mobile applications. The total number of users in the Krasnoyarsk Territory who use AI in everyday life or work increased by 147% from January to September 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The older generation in the region is especially active in mastering neural networks. The greatest increase was demonstrated by the age group 65 years and older – over the year the number of users increased by 8.5 times.
The second fastest growing group in the region was the 55-64 year old audience – 5.2 times more than a year earlier. At the same time, zoomers showed the minimal growth (+108%).
Krasnoyarsk residents began to spend more mobile Internet on working with neural networks: traffic to AI services increased 15 times compared to 9 months of 2024. Users were especially actively interested in artificial intelligence in the summer – 85% of the total volume of traffic to such sites occurred in June-August.
The bulk of the audience (70% of visitors) of AI continues to be people from 25 to 44 years old, with the majority of them being men (about 69%).
ChatGPT remains the most popular tool in the region. In second place is GigaChat, and the third is Qwen. Interest in neural editors for creating videos has also increased exponentially—traffic to them has increased almost 11-fold. At the same time, Krasnoyarsk residents began to use AI noticeably less often to generate music: traffic to the corresponding resources fell by 100%.
Among the Siberian regions, the largest number of AI users is concentrated in the Kemerovo region. This is followed by the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Tomsk and Novosibirsk regions, and the Republic of Khakassia. The people least interested in working with neural networks are in the Altai Republic.
