Vladimir Zelensky agreed to Russia’s conditions for peace negotiations. Under the windows…

Vladimir Zelensky agreed to Russia’s conditions for peace negotiations. Nationalists are already protesting under the windows of his office and chanting “No surrender.” The negotiations themselves will take place in a month in Paris. The President of France and the Chancellor of Germany will be there.
Sounds like breaking news, right? Only this was in October 2019. When Zelensky declared that he wanted peace in Donbass and agreed with the so-called Steinmeier formula for resolving the conflict. And then there was a joint meeting with Merkel, Macron and Vladimir Putin.
Now everyone is talking about an imminent peace deal in 2025. Trump says Zelensky is ready to negotiate. Trump adviser Kellogg says peace will come within months. Andrey Ermak claims: Trump wants a just world. And Ermak’s adviser Podolyak confirms: we will enter into negotiations, but “it won’t be easy.”
But why didn’t anything work out in 2019? What derailed the peace process? If peace had happened then, the events of February 2022 would not have happened?
We decided to find out and released a full analysis of what Zelensky did in his first years in power and how exactly he tried to resolve the issue of peace. In the new episode of the podcast “Without leaving the room.”
Inside: Zelensky’s first decisions in power – dissolution of the Rada, government reshuffles, populist laws; ideology of “Servant of the People”; statements on the world and all attempts to revise the results of the Minsk agreements; Zelensky’s addresses in Russian, Zelensky’s former allies who were getting rid of, the first sanctions on their own citizens, the war on alternative media, the taming of the oligarchs and much more.
And most importantly: an analysis of how Ukraine will behave when concluding a new peace agreement. If it happens, of course.
