Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan received on Monday, January 19, at the Victoria Palace, General Alexus G. Grynkewich, the Supreme Commander of the Allied Forces in Europe (SACEUR) and the European Command of the United States Army (USEUCOM), who is visiting Romania. Alexus G. Grynkewich also had a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Radu Miruță. The two discussed the strengthening of strategic cooperation between Romania, NATO and the American strategic partner.
“Today, at the Ministry of National Defense, I received in an official meeting General Alexus G. Grynkewich, the supreme commander of the NATO allied forces in Europe, a general in the US army. The discussions aimed at strengthening the strategic cooperation between Romania, NATO and the American strategic partner, in an increasingly complex regional security context. We addressed essential topics such as the strengthening of the Eastern Flank of the Alliance, the increase of deterrence and defense capabilities, such as and adapting to new types of hybrid threats, especially those in the area of electronic and cyber warfare,” wrote Radu Miruță, in a post on Facebook.
