A record number of leaders and politicians
According to the organizers, nearly 3,000 people will take part in the event. leaders from over 130 countries, including 65 heads of state and government. Among them will be US President Donald Trump, who will speak on Wednesday at 14.30. His presence at WEF last year, although limited to a video link, dominated the proceedings. Similar expectations surround this year's summit.
Poland will be represented by President Karol Nawrocki, who announced meetings, among others: with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands Dick Schoof, the President of Israel Yitzhak Hercog and participation in a session devoted to the Three Seas Initiative. Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy, will also appear in Davos.

The participants will also include French President Emmanuel Macron, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. International organizations will be represented by, among others: NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, head of the International Monetary Fund Krystalina Georgieva and director general of the World Trade Organization Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala.
Reuters reported that Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelensky may meet in Davos. Their talks will cover, among others: signing the so-called a prosperity package that will unlock USD 800 billion of investment in the reconstruction of Ukraine.
Geopolitical tensions in the background
This year's WEF is taking place in the shadow of serious international crises. In Iran, anti-government protests are brutally suppressed, the war in Ukraine has been going on for almost four years, and the recent attack by US forces on Venezuela ended with the capture of President Nicolas Maduro. Additionally, over the weekend, Donald Trump threatened Europe with new tariffs in response to its sending troops to Greenland, which Washington is trying to take over from Denmark.
Live broadcasts
The World Economic Forum in Davos, which has been held since 1971, will last until Friday. More than 200 sessions will be broadcast on WEF's social media profiles, enabling the general public to follow the proceedings.
