Russia bursts organizations to which it belongs – said the deputy prime minister, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Radosław Sikorski. In this context, he mentioned the UN, OSCE and the Council of the Baltic States. It has already been excluded from the Council of the Baltic Sea countries, in the OSCE it breaks the rules, just as it breaks the principles of the United Nations Card – he emphasized.

During the Friday press conference, after meeting the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrij Sybi, both ministers were asked about Russia's participation in international organizations. Sikorski also discussed the actions of Russia in the Baltic Sea.

Referring to the data of one of the ecological organizations, he said, among others About the ecological disaster in the Baltic Sea, which can be caused by the Russian so -called “Shadow Fleet”.

– We have dozens of very old tankers served by inexperienced crews, under fictitious flags, or at all without flag and without insurance as civil liability, for example for oil leakage – said Sikorski. – Russia not only finances its war machine in this way, Russia exposes the entire Baltic ecosystem to security – the head of Polish diplomacy emphasized.

Sikorski reminded that Russia has already been excluded from the Baltic Sea Council. It happened in 2022, after aggression to Ukraine. He also indicated that the country is breaking the rules Organization of security and cooperation in Europeto which it belongs.

– This organization was founded in the seventies on the basis of such a very rough agreement, a contract between the then East and the West of that time. The east of that time wanted confirmation of borders in Europe, and the West at that time wanted the opposition to not be persecuted in the Soviet block, that a tolerance zone for diversity was created. Today's Russia neither respects boundaries nor respect civil liberties. In today's Russia there are more political prisoners than then for Brezhnev. And Russia bursts organizations to which it belongs – said Sikorski.

As he assessed, Russia also breaks the principles in the United Nations, where it is a permanent member in the Security Council.

– Permanent membership in the Security Council was to serve that the greatest powers would work for peace, restore international law where it was violated. And not that membership in the Security Council will give immunity to the aggressor before responsibility for the act of aggression – he emphasized.

Sikorski added that this is the reason why Poland “so basically criticizes Russia in the Security Council when the opportunity arises after that.” (PAP)
