The weather remains extremely cold, with temperatures of -20 degrees, until the beginning of next week, announce the meteorologists, who on Saturday morning issued several yellow frost alerts targeting almost the entire country.
A code yellow frost alert is in effect until 8pm tonight. Targeted are counties from the north and east of Moldova, as well as the east of Transylvania.
Here, it will be cold, with maximum temperatures of -15…-10 degrees, and locally in the center and south of Moldova, in the east of Muntenia and in Dobrogea, there will be particularly low temperatures (on average, 7…9 degrees lower than normal for the date), with values that will generally fall between -7 and -5 degrees.

Later, from 8 p.m. until tomorrow, at 10 a.m., another yellow frost code comes into force, targeting Moldova, Dobrogea, Muntenia, Oltenia, Transylvania, Maramureș and the north of Crișana.
Minimum temperatures will generally be between -20 and -10 degrees.

A third Yellow Frost Code will be in effect from 10am tomorrow until 8pm the same day
Thus, the frost will persist in the north and east of Moldova, as well as in the east of Transylvania where the maximums will generally be -12…-10 degrees, and in the rest of Moldova, in the south and center of Transylvania, as well as in Dobrogea, Muntenia and Oltenia, particularly low temperatures will be recorded (on average, 7…9 degrees lower than normal for the date), with values that will fall between -9 and -5 degrees.

And from Sunday evening until Monday morning, at 10:00 a.m., the yellow code extends to almost all of Romania.
“The weather will be frosty in most of the country, so the minimum temperatures will generally fall between -20 and -10 degrees”, according to ANM.

At the same time, ANM issued a weather information announcing that the weather will be particularly cold today (January 17) in the eastern half of the country, and from Sunday (January 18) in all regions.
The night and morning will be frosty in most areas, so the minimum temperatures will generally be between -20 and -10 degrees, and in the north and east of Moldova and isolated in Transylvania, the frost will persist during the days, with maximums falling between -15 and -9 degrees.
Until the beginning of next week, there will temporarily be intensification of the wind in the south of Banat and in restricted areas in the southeastern regions, with speeds in general of 40…60 km/h, amplifying the feeling of cold.
