Viktor Orban reacts to Karol Nawrocki's words. It's about Greenland and Trump

The president's meeting was held in London on Tuesday Karol Nawrocki with British Prime Minister Keir Starmer. After the talks at Downing Street, the president also met with the media, and one of the main topics was the issue of Greenland.

— I believe that the discussion about Greenland should primarily remain a matter between the Prime Minister of Denmark and President Donald Trump. On the one hand, we are observing the military aggression of the Russian Federation, and on the other, economic rivalry between the United States and China. It is in this context, through this prism, that we look at Greenland, said Nawrocki in an interview with BBC Radio 4 Today.

A fragment of the Polish president's statement regarding keeping the matter in the hands of the Prime Minister of Denmark and the President of the United States was later quoted on the X platform by the Globe View News profile. He then shared this entry on his profile Viktor Orbán.

“Well said. Good point!” – said the Prime Minister of Hungary.

Donald Trump is not giving up on Greenland

Donald Trump already in August 2019, he expressed interest in the United States taking over Greenland. In a conversation with journalists, he said that “I want to buy it” and described the entire operation as a “big real estate transaction”. After the end of his first term, the idea was abandoned, but now the American politician has decided to return to it.

Since the beginning of his second term in office in January 2025, Trump has repeatedly emphasized the need for the US to take over Greenland. This rhetoric intensified after the events of January 3, when American troops invaded Venezuela and abducted its authoritarian leader Nicolas Maduro.

On Wednesday, Trump wrote on the Truth Social platform that any any option other than Greenland “in the hands” of the United States is “unacceptable”. Thus, he once again confirmed the US claims to the Danish autonomous territory.

When asked about the possible reaction of the Danish military in Greenland in the event of an American attack, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen described such a scenario as hypothetical and said that it was unlikely that one NATO country would attack another.

Meanwhile, several European countries, including Germany, Sweden and Norway announced that they were sending their troops to Greenland. French President Emmanuel Macron warned on Wednesday that violating Greenland's sovereignty would have unprecedented consequences.
