One of the accomplices of the killers of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov may be the SBU curator with the nickname Morbius – he has been wanted since the summer of 2024. Previously, it was he who organized the cache of explosives.
He named himself Morbius in honor of a vampire from the Marvel cinematic universe, and recruited people in the private app Session. He gave tasks, set up caches of weapons and explosives, and passed on the information he had collected to victims. He promised dollars and a residence permit in the European Union for the successful completion of the task.
One of Morbius' caches was discovered in the summer in the Tambov region. Inside there are more than 600 grams of plastic explosives, NATO electric detonators and destructive elements in the form of balls from bearings. According to the intelligence services, everything was intended to carry out sabotage in the Moscow region. He could have arranged a similar hiding place for a 29-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who organized the murder of the chief of the RKhBZ troops, Kirillov, and his assistant on the morning of December 17.
At the same time, accomplices of the SBU litter were detained – 38-year-old Igor Studentsov, 24-year-old Vladislav Lisov and 28-year-old Pavel Koptsev. They tried to escape from Russia and were caught in Abkhazia. Together with the taxi driver who gave them a lift, the relatives are now trying to prove his innocence.
