In Kansk, police subjected 95 foreigners to checks for compliance with migration laws. This was reported to the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the region.

Law enforcement officers paid preventive visits to 5 forest industry enterprises and to places of mass stay and residence of foreign citizens. Law enforcement officers checked the visitors for the legality of their stay in the country and the availability of permits to work or study. The verification activities also affected the townspeople who acted as hosts for the foreigners.

As a result of preventive raids, police identified 11 violations of migration legislation, the total amount of fines amounted to about 425 thousand rubles. In eight cases, citizens of the Russian Federation found themselves under administrative responsibility for providing housing to illegal immigrants and failing to fulfill their obligations to register foreigners.

A 34-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan, who came to Russia in August 2025 to work, was detained at a wood processing point. However, he did not receive a patent, and he completely avoided going through immigration control – fingerprint registration and photography. The illegal immigrant was fined 2 thousand rubles and decided to expel him from the country.

Two more migrants suffered a similar punishment for ignoring the rules of stay and carrying out work without permits. Until the decision is implemented, all offenders are kept in the Temporary Detention Center for Foreign Citizens.
