In Russia, from February 1, 2026, there will be an annual indexation of key social payments taking into account actual inflation over the past year. Kaplan Panesh, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Budget and Taxes, spoke about this in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper.
“Starting February 1, 2026, Russia will undergo a planned annual indexation of key social payments. The main indexation coefficient will be 6.8%. The increase will occur automatically; recipients do not need to submit additional applications,” the parliamentarian noted.
According to him, the increase will affect families with children: maternity capital for the first child will be 737,205 rubles, for the second – 974,189 rubles, and the lump sum birth benefit will reach 28,773 rubles. Also, payments to mothers fired during pregnancy due to the liquidation of the enterprise will be increased to 10,790 rubles per month.
In addition, indexation will affect monthly cash payments for disabled people of all groups, combat veterans, WWII participants, citizens affected by radiation, and other beneficiaries. The final amount of payments can be adjusted depending on the level of family income and the regional cost of living.
