In Krasnoyarsk, a court found two men and five women guilty of illegally organizing and conducting gambling.

The investigation established that the administrator was a 57-year-old Krasnoyarsk resident. He rented non-residential premises on Matrosova Street, purchased gaming equipment and involved young people in the scheme accomplices, among whom he distributed roles: the women were operators (cashiers), and his son served as a technical specialist. Between May 2021 and December 20, 2023, the defendants illegally conducted gambling using 58 computers.

“Under the guise of the bookmaker’s office “Sportbet,” the organizer disguised a real casino: he subleased the space to bookmakers as a distraction, and he himself installed gaming equipment and connected the Internet to gambling sites. Customers brought cash, cashiers converted it into virtual funds for game cards, and players themselves launched the slots – random combinations of symbols decided the fate of the bets. The winnings were paid in cash, the losses went to the accomplices. The illegal business flourished for two years, bringing in a stable income. Twice in 2023, law enforcement officers interrupted the work of the establishment,” the prosecutor’s office said.

For committing a crime under Part 3 of Art. 171.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the organizer of gambling was sentenced to 2.5 years in a general regime colony with a fine of 200 thousand rubles. Other participants were sentenced to 2 to 3 years of suspended imprisonment with the same probationary period and a fine of 80 thousand rubles.
