Over the past week, thousands of households in Kiev have experienced power outages for up to 14-16 hours a day. They accompanied it restrictions on access to water and heat at temperatures falling below minus 10-12 degrees Celsius. Residents must improvise: use batteries, power banks, mobile power stations, fire bricks to heat rooms, and plan daily activities based on short periods of electricity availability.
— We have a battery and a charging station in our house that I use when there is no electricity. Previously, I lived on the 6th floor, but after the birth of my twins, I had to change the apartment to make it more convenient for me to take care of the children. This was due to the fact that my husband is a military man. Now I live on the first floor, Maria, a 31-year-old resident of the capital, told PAP.
According to Maria, in her apartment, when there is no electricity, there is also no water, so her family stocks up drinking and technical water. — Fortunately, we have a gas stove, so we can cook food and make tea. The most difficult thing is, of course, washing clothes, because when you have small children you need a washing machine at home, so as soon as the electricity is turned on, you start washing them right away. – she pointed out.

Private company DTEK reports emergency power outages that vary depending on the grid situation, with residents having to cope with extreme winter conditions.
